A truly reliable recipe for white home made bread that gives fabulous results every time. You can make a larger batch by hand as directed here. The loaf in the picture was made by braiding three equal-sized rolls of dough together and pinching the ends before the final rising, etc. This recipe uses the bread machine to mix and knead the dough and then proof it - the bread is then made into loaves and baked in a regular oven.

METHOD: *** Do not attempt to bake this in your machine as our quantifications are too large, being designed for two loaves - reduce all quantities by half to do complete cycle in your machine.
Place liquid ingredients into the bread-pan first, followed by dry ingredients and finally the yeast. Set machine for white bread, large loaf and select 'dough'.
After cycle has completed, turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface, make into 2 loaves, or buns, place on greased trays dusted with cornmeal, if desired. Brush with egg wash or milk, add sesame seeds (optional) and allow to rise for at least one more hour. Bake each tray separately at 375°F or 190°C for 25 minutes. Brush with melted butter when removing from the oven if you did not use egg wash and allow to cool on baking rack.
