Barbecued French Fries


These are great when you are barbecuing hamburgers - no need to cook them indoors! The non-stick stir-fry basket makes this recipe a breeze and keeps the fat level down. Just delicious - try your own blend of herbs and spices!

Barbecued French Fries Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 - 2 medium red or white potatoes per person
  • 1 tsp (5ml) salt
  • 1 tsp (5ml) crystalline garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp (3ml) dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp (3ml) chili powder
  • olive oil - enough to coat chopped potatoes
  • Barbecue stir-fry basket
  • METHOD:

    Wash the potatoes and cut into 3/4" (2cm) chunks.

    Place in a bowl and toss with the herbs,spices and oil until coated.

    Preheat barbecue and reduce to low heat, place grilling basket on grill and allow to heat up.

    Add the potatoes and cook, stirring occasionally with a non-stick utensil until crispy on the outside and soft inside.

    (If necessary, keep warm by wrapping in foil and placing on top rack while barbecuing the hamburgers.)
