Home Made Tartar Sauce


1 cup (250ml) mayonnaise

1 small onion, or a shallot finely chopped

salt & pepper to taste

1 tbsp (15ml) green relish

3 small sweet gherkins, diced

2 tbsp (30ml) lemon juice



Combine all ingredients together and chill - usually tastes best made 24 hours ahead, but this is not essential.
