Spicy Pork Chops with Potatoes & Peas


3 garlic cloves
2" chunk (5 cm) ginger root
1 tsp cumin seeds (5ml)
1/2 tsp turmeric (3ml)
1 tsp salt (5ml)
3 dried red chili peppers
4 - 5 pork loin chops
2 chopped onions
28 ounce (796ml) can of tomatoes - drain and save juice
3-4 large potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
1 cup (250ml) water, and tomato juice
fresh coriander leaves
1/2 tsp (3ml) garam masala
1 cup frozen peas (250ml)



Pour tomato juice into a blender jar and add dried spices and garlic and ginger. Blend at high speed until smooth. 
Heat oil in large saucepan and then brown pork chops, adding the onions and continuing to cook until onions are soft and translucent.
Add tomatoes and blender spice mix.
Cook briskly, while stirring for about five minutes. Add potatoes, Use water to rinse the blender jar and add to the pan.
Reduce to a steady simmer and cook 45-60 minutes until potatoes are tender.
Add frozen peas 15 minutes before completion of cooking.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and add garam masala to taste.
