Baked Pear Pudding |

4 tsp light brown sugar (20 ml) 4 tsp water (20 ml) 1 vanilla pod, slit in half and the seeds scraped free 1/2 cup butter (125 gm / 4½oz) 1/2 cup white sugar (125 gm / 4½oz) 2 large eggs 1 cup sifted self-raising flour (125 gm / 4½oz) |

Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C) Pour this mixture over the pears and bake for about 35 - 45 minutes. Serve with English Custard. |
